Our quick and direct advocacy is getting results.
1 - in our first week we launched a huge campaign against Essex Police Force after they failed to stop the local Jewish community from being intimidated.
Instead of making a big Palestine march adhere to the specified conditions, Essex police officers told Jews to 'avoid these areas'. And it was Pesach.
Some Jews avoided attending Synagogue because of anxiety over encountering the horde of protesters screaming their hate for Israel .
This is not acceptable.
After we sent over 500 complaints to Essex Police and also various MPs, we received a written promise from Tory leader Kemi Badenoch - she stated she was raising our points as a matter of 'urgency' with Essex Police.
2 At a silent vigil for the Israeli hostages, the group Leeds Leads Against Antisemitism were met with verbal abuse and screamed at by an employee of a local company.
They tagged the company on X repeatedly but nothing happened.
So they turned to us. Within two hours, we had sent multiple formal complaints to the company in question and by that afternoon, they reached out and asked to meet with Leeds Leads and promised to take action.
3 - When the group 'Hope Not Hate''s Chief Executive Nick Lowles began sharing Hamas propaganda on social media, he was asked by many people to remove it. He refused. Over about two days his vile lies were seen by millions of people. Finally we sent 90 complaints to the Trustees - and within an hour the posts were removed.
4 - After Dawn French posted the most vile 'parody' of Israel's response to barbaric Hamas terrorism on October 7th 2023, she was lambasted by many of us, all over social media. We sent over 1700 complaints to her agent and within hours she was trying to backtrack.
The whole community along with our non Jewish allies played a part in this and even though French's apology was not remotely sincere and that was clear, at least we all - working together - got her to remove the appalling post.
